Root Tip Extraction Instructions
Step One:
Drill a pilot hole in the fractured root, using our patented high speed friction grip pilot hole bur. After pilot hole is complete remove hand piece.
NOTE: Pilot Hole depth needs to be greater than 50% of root length.
Step Two:
Choose an appropriately sized SURGICAL EXTRACTING BUR and place it into the slow speed hand piece. Bur sizes are 18mm, 28mm, and 30mm.
Note: SURGICAL EXTRACTING BUR will automatically stop when it reaches the pilot hole depth. The Bur will not self tap or cut it is an engaging bur only.
Step Three:
Place SURGICAL EXTRACTING BUR into slow speed hand piece, drill the extracting bur into the pilot hole in the fractured root, then remove hand piece when the extracting bur is engaged into the root.
Step Four:
Using your fingers make sure the SURGICAL EXTRACTING BUR is engaged into the fractured root.
Step Five:
Position the ROOT TIP EXTRACTOR in the proper position, rotating the extractor head into either upper maxillary position, or lower mandibular position, posterior (left or Right) and anterior (left or Right) positions.
NOTE: The extractor is a universal instrument for both right and left hand extractions, allowing full range of motion at the touch of a button.
Step Six:
Gental luxation of the root will expand the bone naturally allowing the periodontal ligament to stretch causing blood flow and root removal.
Step Seven:
The SURGICAL EXTRACTING BURS are designed for a single use only. You will find that using the ROOT TIP EXTRACTOR (RTE100) to remove a root tip will be quick easy and A-traumatic!
NOTE: Using the RTE100 you can now remove a root tip without laying a flap while preserving bone, allowing for an immediate placement of implants.
Step Eight:
Sterilization - Using caviwipes clean the ROOT TIP EXTRACTOR. Remove the head, keeping the head and handle apart, bag and autoclave together.
